Aquatics Supervisor Seasonal Sun Valley Pool or Bowers Mansion Pool $10.00-$12.50 Enforce policy and regulations for each public swimming facility; supervise lifeguards and assist in orientation and training in lifesaving and first aid techniques; follow established maintenance operation procedures at all facilities; is responsible for fee collection, deposit, and purchasing; develop reports and studies for submission to the Parks Department; and perform related work as required.

Experience and Training: 3 seasons as a lifeguard and have current Lifeguard Training Certificate, Standard First Aid Certificate, and CPR Card.

License or Certificate: Current Standard First Aid, CPR Card, and Lifeguard Training or proof of registration and estimated completion date to be considered. **Supervisors will be required to obtain, at Washoe County's expense, a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certificate upon hire.

Concession Attendant Seasonal Sun Valley Pool or Bowers Mansion Pool $8.00-$11.50 Greet the public and provide information concerning facility; collect fees, make change, and submit reports of fees collected; and perform related work as required.

Experience and Training: Three months public contact experience or graduation from high school or GED.

Lifeguard Seasonal Sun Valley Pool or Bowers Mansion Pool $8.00-$10.00 Responsible for the safety of pool patrons; maintain standards of sanitation in facilities to which assigned; enforce all rules and regulations pertaining to pool operations; remain ready to respond in any emergency situation; may conduct swimming lessons; perform related work as required.

Experience and Training: Current Lifeguard Training Certificate, Standard First Aid Certification, and CPR Card. Washoe County offers a Lifeguard Training course.

License or Certificate: Current Standard First Aid, CPR Card, and Lifeguard Training or proof of registration and estimated completion date to be considered.

Park Aide Guide Seasonal Great Basin Adventure or Wilbur D. May Museum (Rancho San Rafael Regional Park) or Bowers Mansion Regional Park $8.00-$10.00 Museum: Greet public, give directions, answer questions; explain rules of the facility; collect fees, make change, and prepare daily reports; may conduct guided tours giving brief description and background of items; may help arrange displays of historical material; may perform light cleaning to prepare and maintain the facility for public use.

Great Basin Adventure: Greet public, give directions, answer questions; collect fees; prepare and service concession foods; give pony rides; maintain a clean barnyard; care for a variety of farm animals; assist in operation of log flume ride; clean and maintain the facilty for public use.

Training and Experience: Three months public contact experience or graduation from high school or GED.

Park Aide-Maintenance Seasonal Various parks $10.00-$12.00 Perform basic facility and landscape maintenance duties to prepare and maintain park facilities and golf courses for public use; maintain and repair sprinkler systems used for irrigation; clean restrooms; pick up litter and empty garbage receptacles; may participate in minor park facility construction projects.

Training and Experience: Three months of public contact or graduation from high school or GED.

Selected applicants will be required to submit to a medical examination. The cost of the examination will be covered by Washoe County.

Park Aide-Ranger Seasonal Various parks $10.00-$12.00 Perform general clean-up of regional parks; pick up litter and empty trash receptacles; clean restrooms and picnic shelters;may participate in minor construction projects; answer questions from park visitors and give directions; may assist in natural resource interpretive programs; open and close regional parks; perform safety patrols and maintian park security. Weekends and evening shifts may be required.

Experience and Training: Three months public contact experience or graduation from high school or GED.

License or Certificate: A valid Class C Driver License

Park Aide-Trainee Seasonal Great Basin Adventure (Rancho San Rafael Regional Park) or Bartley Ranch Regional Park $7.00 Great Basin Adventure: Under direct supervision of Parks staff, greets public; answer questions and give directions; collect fees; prepare and serve concession foods; give pony rides; maintain a clean barnyard; care for a variety of farm animals; assist in the operation of the log flume ride; clean and mainatain facility for public use.

Ranger: Under direct supervision of Parks staff, performs general clean up of regional parks; pick up letter and empty trash receptacles; clean restrooms and picnic shelters; may participate in minor construction projects; answer questions from park visitors and give directions; perform traffic control; assist at special events and other related duties. Weekend and evenings shifts may be required.

Experience and Training: Any combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the ability to understand and follow instructions.

Park Ranger Seasonal Various parks $22.53 Participates in and may supervise the performance of duties involving operation, maintenance or repairs of park facilities; collects campground registration fees; enforces park standards and regulations; patrols the park and preserves law and order, prevents accidents, vandalism, fires and any misuses of the area; may be called upon to fight fires occuring in County parks; interprets the natural and historical features of the park to visitors; may assist in developing budget estimates and park planning.

Experience and Training: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in park management, recreation, natural resource management, forestry or a closely related field plus one year of full time experience in the operation and maintenance of a park or recreation area; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

License or Certificate: A valid Class C Driver License is required at the time of appointment.

Recreation Leader Seasonal Water Play Park (Lazy 5 Regional Park) $8.00-$10.00 Greet the public; collect fees, make change, and submit reports; take orders and serve food; handle publicity and general supervision and safety of participants; maintain facility common areas, restrooms, and concessions; perform related work as required. Open 7 days a week, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts may be required.

Experience and Training: Three months public contact experience or graduation from high school or GED OR four months Latchkey experience (1/2 school year)

Senior Lifeguard Seasonal Sun Valley Pool or Bowers Mansion Pool $9.50-$11.50 Take all precautions and preventive action necessary to insure safety of general public and pool staff from accidents or drowning; see that lifeguards are on duty any time pool is in use (there must be a lifeguard in one of the deep end towers whenever public swimming or school classes are in progress); provide adequate deck and locker supervision; post for public view and enforce Washoe County rules and regulations; maintain a sanitary facility, free from defective equipment and unsafe conditions; follow State Health Department Regulations, which are enforced by Washoe County Health Department; maintain proper bromine and pH residual standard; apply proper chemicals with sufficient regularity to prevent algae and insure clear, bacteria-free water; make complete check of entire bathhouse, pool, pool decks and mechanical equipment building before opening the pool; conduct active learn-to-swim program aimed at channeling patrons into more advanced aquatic skills; and perform related work as required.

Experience and Training: Two seasons experience as a lifeguard and current Lifeguard Training Certificate, Standard First Aid Certification, and CPR Card. Washoe County offers a Lifeguard Training course.

License or Certificate: Current Standard First Aid, CPR Card, and Lifeguard Training or proof of registration and estimated completion date to be considered.

Senior Recreation Leader Seasonal Water Play Park (Lazy 5 Regional Park) or Great Basin Adventure (Rancho San Rafael Regional Park) $9.50-$11.50 Water Play Park: Supervise the facility and staff to provide a safe and enjoyable experience to the water park participants; collect admission fees; provide food and beverage service; interpret department policies to the public; clean and maintain all areas of the facility; monitor and adjust water chemistry, provide accurate records, make deposits, and other duties as required. Open 7 days a week, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts may be required.

Great Basin Adventure: Supervise the facility and staff to provide a safe and enjoyable experience to the park participants; collect admission fees; provide food and beverage service; interpret department policies to the public; clean and maintain all areas of the facility; provide accurate records, make deposits and other duties as required. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

Experience and Training: Completion of one year of college and one season directly related experience or two seasons directly related experience.
