Volunteer Now for the 2008 Great Truckee Meadows Community
Cleanup Mother Earth is looking for
volunteers to help clear tons of trash from outdoor recreation areas
during the Great Truckee Meadows Community Cleanup on Saturday, May 10.
All volunteers receive a souvenir
water bottle, donuts from Krispy Kreme before the cleanup, and a thank-you
lunch provided by Scolari's and Pepsi immediately following the cleanup at
Rancho San Rafael Regional Park's Chinese Pagoda.
Last year, volunteers removed over
140 tons of trash from a variety of areas throughout the Truckee Meadows.
More work needs to be done and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful has
partnered with Washoe County, the cities of Reno and Sparks, Reno-Sparks
Indian Colony, U.S. Forest Service, BLM, Waste Management and other local
organizations to target areas from Cold Springs to Washoe Lake.
Volunteers may sign-up and choose a
location by visiting the Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful website at
www.ktmb.org or call (775) 851-5185. .
